Advancing Children’s Rights Through Education: From Imagination to Realisation,

Fulbright awardee Rita Melia Director of Training and practice Early Childhood Ireland together with visiting Fulbright Scholar Professor Jonathan Todres will host a conference; Advancing Children’s Rights Through Education: From imagination to realisation, in the Clock Tower Department of Education and Skills, Marlborough Street on Wed 25th April.

The conference is a collaborative project between Rita Melia Early Childhood Ireland Fulbright Awardee 2016/2017 who conducted research on early childhood education and care provision at Harvard Graduate School Education ( HGSE) Boston MA and Professor Jonathan Todres Professor of Law at Georgia State University College of Law  and Fulbright Scholar 2018 University College Cork.

This conference will reflect on advancing children and young people’s rights through education with an emphasis on creativity and the arts. The Fulbright awardees  together with Early Childhood Ireland and the host institutions National University Ireland Galway and University College Cork will identify the current approach to advancing children’s and young people’s right through education and consider how this approach could be further enhanced to meet our obligations under the UNCRC.
